New Braunfels, TX | Ultra Low Gloss Slate Gray Standing Seam

Tucked into the Texas Hill Country, this New Braunfels residence blends warm stone, smooth stucco, and clean modern lines—so the roof had to deliver the same balance of texture and restraint. CMG’s Ultra Low Gloss Slate Gray was selected to anchor the home’s mixed-material palette with a quiet, refined metal finish that looks intentional in full sun and up close.

Roll formed from CMG steel, the standing seam roof creates long, uninterrupted lines across multiple roof planes while the low-gloss finish reduces solar glare, helps mask visual waviness (oil canning), and complements the natural variation in the stone façade. The result is a roof that feels architectural and timeless—designed to elevate the home without overpowering it.

Project Highlights

  • Ultra Low Gloss aesthetic for a softer, more architectural look in bright Texas sunlight

  • Reduced glare compared to traditional high-sheen metal finishes

  • Low-gloss surface helps minimize the appearance of oil canning, especially on visible elevations

  • Slate Gray pairs seamlessly with warm stone, neutral stucco, and dark trim for a cohesive exterior

Why Ultra Low Gloss Works Here

On homes with prominent rooflines and large, visible planes, gloss level matters. Ultra Low Gloss Slate Gray delivers a muted, premium appearance that’s easier on the eyes, more consistent across changing daylight, and especially well-suited for stone-and-stucco architecture where the goal is harmony, not shine.
