CMG adds new Operations Manager for their Indianapolis Location

Coated Metals Group expands the management team of their Indianapolis location by hiring Joe Ley as Operations Manager. 

Sept. 3rd, 2015–A native to Indiana, Joe Ley has accepted the position of Operations Manager for Coated Metals Group’s Indianapolis facility. His sales management history provides Joe with a strong background in forecasting, inventory allocations, and logistics, as well as experience managing a team to coordinate efficiencies from order to shipment.

For his new role at CMG, Joe states that he has gained great experience and transferrable skills that will allow him to hit the ground running. “The ability to forecast and set schedules as well as make necessary adjustments on the fly will be an integral part of the day to day operations. My position will allow me to focus more on the operations side of the business that will directly benefit the sales team by ensuring shorter lead times than our competition.”

Chris Julka, general manager of Coated Metals Group – Indianapolis, is please to be able to add the role of Operations Manager to the CMG team. “We’ve been fortunate enough to grow at a pace over the years where Joe’s position becomes necessary in order to clearly offer operations/production management the time and focus needed as we continue to grow.” Chris feels the layer of operational support will allow CMG to continue to focus on expansion of the business as it relates to expanding production capacity and sales.

Chris states Joe’s previous experience has made him a strong candidate to take on this new role and be an instrumental member to the Indianapolis team. “Joe Ley comes to CMG with an extensive background in operations management which will help us focus on getting the pieces in place to expand production capacity here in Indianapolis, while at the same time not having to compromise the overall accessibility and customer service that we’ve held as a mainstay of our success over the last ten years.”
